THE CITY / FIELD NOTES

Project Moon Life Careers: Jobs & Career Paths

Your occupation is a starting point for a longer identity. Retirement does not erase your career history.

For this site’s Classic v1 and City paths v2 rules · reviewed 16 October 2026.

What is one career-path example?

Choose artisan at the age-eighteen career decision in City paths. That places the resident on the workshop track; the first track chapter can appear from age 21. Later chapters require the previous chapter to advance, and some choices require enough resources or other attributes. This describes the rules, not a guaranteed outcome for any seed.

When do I choose a career?

The school milestone is at six, direction at sixteen and career at eighteen. The four adult careers are company clerk, Fixer, artisan and researcher.

How do City paths progress?

Fixers enter the office track; clerks and researchers enter Wing management; artisans enter the workshop track. Chapters unlock from ages 21, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55 after the previous chapter advances.

Can I leave a track?

Yes. The last option explicitly leaves that promotion track. It does not erase your occupation or earned achievements, but later chapters stop. Auto-choose also takes that last option.

What do traits change?

City paths includes 20 personality-gated events. Kindness can lead to shelter work; curiosity to archives; principles to a written objection. Every branch is still a choice, not an automatic reward.
